Toussaint or Halloween brings us close to our loved ones who have died and are with God – they are Saints as truly as ‘Canonised’ ones. Those who are on the way to Heaven are also in our prayers and are fondly remembered. In November we pray for the Dead and ask God to grant them Eternal Life and that they may rest in peace.

Altar List of the Dead is now open. Place the names of your beloved dead in the box before the Altar. All Masses offered in St Joseph’s during November will remember these loved ones. We can also remember a prayer for those who have nobody left to pray for them.

Monday, 1st November – All Saints:
Mass at 11.00 a.m. and 6.30 p.m.
Tuesday, 2nd November – All Souls:
Mass at 8.30 a.m. and 7.30 p.m.

Weekend Masses at St Joseph’s Church
Next weekend wearing masks at Mass continues, sanitising hands, social distance. A change is being tested:

  • Pre-registration for weekend Masses will not be required. Numbers will still be limited, but more seats are being opened for use. When the Church and Hall are full, no more people can be admitted.
  • Entering for Mass will be by main doors from the parvis.
  • If this does not work to keep us all safe and well, a return to Registration will be needed.

St Joseph’s Church goes underground!

On Thursday St Joseph’s Church was asked to impart a blessing on the RER E extension linking St Lazare to Nanterre, 42 meters below Avenue de Friedland. In the wooden niche at the top of the photo is a Statue of St Barbara. In France she is Patron of tunnelling and of Pompiers. Over 20 of the construction workers joined in the Blessing.
