“Lead us not into temptation: a new French translation of this petition in the ‘Our Father’ this weekend (Catholic and Protestant churches). “La Croix” & “Paris Notre Dame” have flagged this. Some ask if there will be a new English translation of Our Father? I contacted U.S. Bishops’ Liturgy Office, The Irish Liturgy Institute and the Bishops of England & Wales Liturgy Office  about this. Reply is: NO CHANGE in English words of the Our Father. Retired Pope Benedict’s book, ‘Jesus of Nazareth’, has a helpful commentary on ‘Lead us not into temptation’. [160 – 164] Photocopy of pages on request.      Aidan, C.P.
