Detailed Program 2018-2019 :
-Sun 16 Sept : CCD classes start
-Sunday 23 Sept at 12:15pm: First PARENT's Meeting (on Parish Information Day)
- Sat 24 Nov from 9am to 3pm: Candidates will visit Secours Catholique (Caritas) in Mesnil Le Roi.
-Sat 26 January 2019 from 10am to 3pm: Second Retreat, all meet the Bishop at MARYMOUNT School NEUILLY, group activities, meditation, penance service and Mass at 2.00 p.m. Parents of the Confirmation Candidates are invited to this Mass. The retreat concludes at 3 p.m.
-Sunday 27January 2019 at St Joseph’s Church: Enrolment of Confirmation candidates during the 11am Mass . All parishioners asked to pray for our Confirmation Candidates.
-Letters to the Bishop before 17 March (to be given to teachers) , Bishop's visit is scheduled on Saturday 11th May at St Joseph's, 10am to 1pm:
-Third Retreat: 11May 2019 at St Joseph's from 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m; (exchange between the candidates and Bishop about letters he received). This session includes 11.00 a.m. parish Mass: All families of Candidates and parishioners are invited to this Mass. Ending time: 12.30 p.m
- Confirmation 9 June 2019 at 3pm (Pentecost).
Confirmation last Pentecost Sunday 20 May was a beautiful day for both CCD and Marymount School Candidates: Monseigneur Denis Jachiet, Auxiliary Bishop of Paris officiated .
Confirmation is the strengthening of the new life of Baptism. As such it brings an increase and deepening of baptismal grace. St Ambrose, speaking to the newly confirmed explains: "Recall then that you have received the spiritual seal, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of right judgment and courage, the spirit of knowledge and reverence, the spirit of holy fear in God's presence. Guard what you have received. God the Father has marked you with his sign; Christ the Lord has confirmed you and has placed his pledge, the Spirit, in your hearts" (St. Ambrose, De myst. 7, 42: PL 16, 402-403).
